Portable Air Conditioner Hire

Office or Room too hot?, why not rent a portable air conditioner during the hot spell? The Bosch air conditioner is very efficient and easy to use. Ideal for use in the office or home.

Portable Air Conditioners - 9000 b.t.u

These units are ideal for bedroom use, being quieter. The conditioner can also be used with a time switch to cut in and out during hot spells.

Portable Air Conditioners - 12000 b.t.u

Suitable for lounge or office use, (see room sizes below). More powerful than the 9000 type, but slightly noisier. Anything above 12000 b.t.u. is not suitable for the domestic/office use as they can be very noisy and considerably more expensive.

Air Coolers

If you cannot vent the exhaust hose outside then a alternative is to perhaps use Air Cooler units. Although not as powerful as an Air Conditioner, Air Cooler units do have the advantage of having a tray in which ice cubes may be placed, this helps in pushing cold air around the room.

Pedestal & Desk Fans

No cooling available with these, they simply move air around the room, but they are definitely better then nothing. They are suitable in an office environment on low speeds unless you enjoy picking paperwork up off the floor!

What size Air Conditioner do you need?

As a general rule:
12ft x 12ft x 8ft high will need a minimum of 6000 b.t.u.
16ft x 14ft x 8ft high will need a minimum of 8960 b.t.u.

All portable air conditioning units are supplied with an exhaust hose (similar to a tumble dryer exhaust hose). This must be vented through an open window or wall aperture. The unit needs to stand within 4/5ft ot the aperture. Unfortunately the hose should not be extended, otherwise heat escapes from the exhaust hose back into the room.

Water is removed from the air and condensed back into the tank in the Air Conditioner. This needs to be drained frequently into a suitable container. The air conditioner achieves best results when all windows and doors are closed.
